In Honor of the Maharajahby ~MaidenFayth

Traditional Art / Paintings / Animals

This is one of my most favorite pieces and makes the frustrations of watercolor worth it for me! This painting also one first place at my college's student art show.

I'm finding myself falling in love with indian culture and traditions...as well as elephants! ^_^ Taking from their culture gives me so much freedom to express myself with color and intricate patterns.

I outlined my elephant sketch with red india ink and then proceeded to paint and lay down large salt crystals to add texture. Ignore the light spot on the elephants ear! >_< I guess i forgot to continue...painting there...I dunno what happened.
